Latex Care

HOW DO I WASH MY LATEX CLOTHING ?

We recommend hand wash only !

DO NOT TUMBLE DRY, DO NOT DRY CLEAN !

When you wear you latex outfit, it accumulates external lint, dust, and inner particles like sweat or skin oils if not cleaned after being used.

Over time, these substances may seep into the latex from within, diminishing its sheen. For a long enjoyment of your latex clothing, we strongly recommend a brief wash after each use to maintain its luster and longevity.

Suspend it for air drying on a hanger made of non-metallic material. It might be helpful to gently shake off excess water to expedite the drying process. However, it's imperative to avoid hanging it over a radiator or employing heat to accelerate drying.

You can find here the products that we recommend for latex clothing and accessories.

HOW DO I STORE MY LATEX CLOTHING ?

Storing your latex clothing correctly is essential to preserve its beauty and extend its lifespan. Here's how to do it:

After it's completely dry, lightly dust a small quantity of talcum powder evenly on both the garment's interior and exterior, ensuring it's well-distributed and not adhering to itself in any spots.

Latex is sensitive to light and can degrade over time when exposed to direct sunlight. Store the items in a dark, cool place and away from UV rays.

If you prefer hangers, latex should be stored on padded hangers, ideally with a wide shoulder span to prevent stretching and creasing. Avoid using metal hangers, as they can cause discoloration.

If you prefer storage bags, separate pieces and store each latex garment separately to prevent sticking and transfer of color or shine.

Keep in mind that extreme heat or cold can damage latex. Don't store your latex clothing in areas prone to extreme temperature fluctuations.

We recommend that you periodically inspect your stored latex pieces to ensure they remain in good condition and reapply talcum powder if needed.By following these guidelines, you can maintain the integrity of your latex clothing and enjoy it for years to come.

WHAT IS MY LATEX CLOTHING IS DAMAGED  ?

Regrettably, a recurring issue lies in the inadvertent use of improper care products due to the unavailability of suitable alternatives.

It's of utmost importance to exercise caution, particularly with various oils, as their usage can lead to irreversible harm to latex. Substances like baby oil, skin creams, or fats can infiltrate the material and trigger its decomposition.

Initially, the latex may become distorted and softened, ultimately progressing to a condition known as 'latex cancer,' where it turns brittle and prone to breakage. Therefore, it's imperative not to compromise quality in favor of convenience.

WHAT CAN I DO IF MY LATEX STAINS OR DISCOLOR ?

Regrettably, a solution for this issue remains elusive even to this day. Latex tends to undergo reactions when exposed to moisture, potentially salt, and particularly non-ferrous metals such as brass, copper, gold, nickel.

These reactions can result in unsightly discolorations, typically manifesting as yellow to brown stains, which are particularly conspicuous on light-colored latex. The sole recourse to prevent this is exercising caution.

Hence, it's advisable to take extra care when wearing latex alongside jewelry or piercings, and when in doubt, it's better to either refrain from their use or remove them beforehand to avert discoloration.
